Ofsted Success for Ultimate Activity Camps

Ofsetd Reports

After a wonderful summer of running our inspiring Ultimate Activity Camps, we are excited to share some fantastic news from our recent Ofsted visits. This summer, Ofsted inspectors visited eight of our locations. We are thrilled to announce that we achieved a 100% positive result from these inspections, a testament to the hard work and dedication of our entire team. During these inspections, inspectors worked closely with our operations and camp managers to make observations, spoke with staff, children, and parents to gather feedback, and reviewed important documents. We couldn't be happier with the outstanding results.

Ofsted has recently updated its rating system, replacing the previous categories of ‘Outstanding,’ ‘Good,’ ‘Requires Improvement,’ and ‘Inadequate,’ with a straightforward ‘Met’ or ‘Not Met’ status. We’re absolutely delighted that every one of our locations visited by Ofsted received a ‘Met’ rating. This reflects our commitment to maintaining the highest standards of care and safety across all our camps.

Congratulations and thank you to all our dedicated staff at Ultimate Activity Camps, who always work so hard to ensure that children have an amazing experience at camp and can’t wait for their next visit. Luke Hayward, Managing Director, said,

"We’re proud to have received such positive results from Ofsted, which underscores our commitment to maintaining the highest standards in childcare. This achievement further enhances our track record of prioritising child safeguarding and welfare as the foundation for our fun and engaging activities."

Location Highlights:

Amesbury School, Hindhead

Ofsted said, "Staff plan exciting outdoor activities to encourage children to build their stamina and resilience. Staff are good role models and have high expectations of children's behaviour."

Ballard School, New Milton

Ofsted said, "There is good oversight by an operations team that regularly checks that policies and procedures are being implemented and that activities are well organised. Staff's safeguarding knowledge is also tested regularly. Staff comment that they feel well supported."

Headington School, Oxford

Ofsted said, "Children's confidence grows during the well-planned activities and play experiences. Children feel secure and welcomed into the setting through the positive relationships developed with the staff."

King Edward VI High School for Girls, Birmingham

Ofsted said, "Children arrive happily at this vibrant and lively club. They receive a friendly greeting from staff who take then off to play. Children are welcomed by an array of activities, which helps them to quickly settle in.  Staff receive bespoke training prior to starting their role and before each holiday camp, which ensures that they understand their roles and responsibilities."

Micklefield School, Reigate

Ofsted said, "Staff provide children with a wide range of experiences and activities. Younger
children enjoy exploring role-play clothes, excitedly talking about what they are wearing and what characters they are. Older children look forward to the bouncy castle later in the afternoon. This helps support children's personal and social skills.  Leaders and managers have effective oversight of the camp. They have robust procedures in place for the recruitment of staff and provide good support. "

Sancton Wood School, Cambridge

Ofsted said, "Children remain deeply engaged in play throughout the day because staff provide and facilitate activities that are exciting and meet children's varied interests. Staff demonstrate a deep understanding of their responsibility to keep children safe."

Sutton High School for Girls, Sutton

Ofsted said, "Children choose what activities they would like to participate in on arrival. All children are relaxed and secure at the camp. Parents say children look forward to attending. Children tell the inspector they like coming to the camp. They like the activities and sports. "

Thornton College, Milton Keynes

Ofsted said, "Parents are full of praise for the organisation and safety of the camp. They feel staff are very approachable and there is a good mixture of mature and younger staff. Staff work with parents ahead of children attending camp, to ensure they know as much about the children in their care before they arrive. "

We take great pride in providing exceptional childcare and exhilarating activities for children aged 4-14, and receiving such positive Ofsted results is incredibly rewarding for our team.

After an amazing summer, we’re now gearing up for our October Half-Term Camps, running from Monday, 28th October to Friday, 1st November 2024. It’s going to be a full week of fun, adventure, and unforgettable experiences!
