During our Summer Camps, at a selection of our Ultimate Activity locations, our sister company, SBC, offers an option for international students aged 6-12 coming to the UK with their parents* to join our day camps from Monday to Friday and learn English.

For international children aged 6 to 12 years who would like to attend Ultimate Activity Camps, we require at least an upper intermediate level of spoken English. However, children who are beginner-intermediate level can join if they enrol for the English and Activity Programme through SBC. 

SBC provides 2 x 50 minutes of English language tuition every day from Monday to Friday - see below for an example timetable. *All children must be in the UK and accompanied by a parent (or authorised guardian) who will be responsible for bringing and collecting the child from camp every day.

Below is a sample timetable which shows the activities on offer each week at our international English camps - the order of activities will vary from week to week to ensure the best variety each day and week. Please note that English Lessons will either take place in the morning or the afternoon.

ENGLISH SPEAKING ABILITY

To ensure the safety of children on camp, we require that all children attending our Ultimate English programme understand basic instructions in English and can communicate about their basic needs and welfare. For children attending Ultimate Activity Camps (without English lessons), children must have an above intermediate level English competency. We reserve the right to refuse access to our programmes if our Operations team think a child's safety or welfare is compromised by their English language skills.

What information is required for my booking?

To book, we will ask for your name, contact details including two telephone numbers, and a UK address. The UK address can be a temporarily residence, such as a hotel, so long as it is the most up to date UK address for your child for safety reasons. We will also ask for your child’s details including their name, date of birth, school name, and any special needs or medical conditions we should be aware of on camp.

How can I book?

How and when do I pay?

We accept credit/debit cards and bank transfers. For your security we use '3D Secure' for online card payments. We require full payment at the time of booking. See our terms and conditions online for full details.

What if I need to change my booking dates?

What time can I drop off and collect my child?

For our Ultimate English programme, parents can drop off from as early as 8:00am and collect until 6pm at the latest, with timetabled activities running from 09:30 to 16:30.

Do you offer airport transfers for day camp bookings?

We do not offer transfers for our Day Camps, as they are non-residential, and children are usually travelling with their parents. However, if you require any assistance at all with locating a suitable train/coach/taxi to get you from the airport to your chosen accommodation, our partners at SBC International can help you find the best solution.

Are the camps accessible by public transportation?

There are some routes to our schools in London and Oxford using public transportation. We are happy to help discuss this with you if you need assistance. You can also search for transportation options online using the following postcodes:

Do you offer overnight accommodation?

Our camps are non-residential (i.e. no accommodation) therefore you would be required to drop your child off in the morning and collect in the evening.

What age does my child have to be?

Ultimate English camps are for children aged 6 to 12 years. Our activity programme is tailored to each age group and children are also grouped by age to ensure they get the appropriate level of instruction and care and make new friends of a similar age.

Who are your staff?

Our staff are chosen for their experience, qualifications, attitude and passion for working with children. Our managers are either experienced coaches, managers or teachers and are selected for their leadership skills. Our Camp teams are comprised of Lifeguards, Sports Coaches, Art specialists and Early Years specialists to ensure we have the right balance of skills to provide the best quality instruction. Our English instructors are hand-picked by our partner SBC International for their ability to deliver inspirational and enriching programmes, supporting your child in achieving their individual learning goals and ensuring they have an exceptional experience. All of our staff are selected through a rigorous recruitment process. We conduct Enhanced DBS checks and references on all our staff, and they are all put through our Ultimate training programme. All this means you can be confident that your child is in the best possible hands.

What if I am late dropping off or collecting?

If you’re running late to collect your child, please call the office on 0330 111 7077 as soon as possible so we can inform the Camp manager. If you are later than 6pm, we charge £7 for every fifteen minutes to cover the extra costs of having 2 members of staff staying late.

Can a friend or extended family member collect my child from camp?

Friends or family members that have been authorised by you to collect your child from camp are able to collect. We ask that all parents/ family members collecting children bring the unique booking ID number (which can be found in your booking confirmation) when collecting, in order to confirm that they are authorised to collect.

When can I find out the timetable of activities for the days that I've booked?

Due to late bookings, weather conditions and changing numbers of children on camp, timetables are confirmed a week beforehand; however, please note that these will not be published on our website. If you would like to view the timetable, please get in touch and we will be happy to email you a copy for your child's group at camp. Our sample timetable is an actual timetable from a previous season and shows the mix and type of activities children can expect.

Is lunch provided?

Children need to bring a packed lunch and drink bottle each day. Please be aware that children on camp may have nut allergies – please avoid nuts and nut products in your child’s packed lunch. We do not have the capacity to refrigerate or heat food on camp, so we recommend packing an ice block or using a thermos where appropriate.

How many children will there be in each group?

This depends on the age of the children for activities:

 

6 - 7 year olds are in groups of 14 maximum with 1 instructor for activities

8+ year olds are in groups of 16 maximum with 1 instructor for activities

 

All English lessons are taught in groups of 12 maximum with 1 instructor.

Will my child interact with local English-speaking children?

For activities, local and international children will all come together. This allows international children to practice their English skills and interact with English-speaking children.

Will my child be grouped with children of a similar age or similar English level?

For activities, all children on camp are divided into groups of children of a similar age to ensure they get the appropriate level of instruction and care and can make new friends.

For English lessons, each child’s ability level will be assessed, and we will work with them to achieve their individual learning goals. As the group si For English lessons, children will be placed into groups with other children of similar English ability levels, based on the level provided during the booking process.

In their first lesson, each child’s ability level will be checked to make sure they are in the correct class for them to achieve their individual learning goals. We keep our class sizes small (maximum 12 students per class) so that each child can have more personalised attention throughout their course.

What happens during English lessons?

Students will take part in 2x 50-minute lessons per day. Our Ultimate English course is designed to improve English vocabulary, grammar, and conversation skills. The lessons are themed around exciting topics such as space exploration, time travel, and storytelling. A variety of interactive methods, including games and activities, help enhance speaking, reading, and writing skills. The course emphasises real-life communication through a communicative approach and boosts students' confidence by giving them opportunities to present their work and ideas.

How can I hear feedback about my child’s progress in the English lessons?

All students will receive a report at the end of the course, celebrating their achievements and supporting with areas for future focus. You can also speak with your child's English instructor at drop off.

Can I get a certificate showing my child participated in the camp?

Students are provided with a certificate of attendance at the end of their course.

What should my child wear?

Children should come to Camp ready for an active day. We recommend comfortable, sporty clothes (i.e. tracksuit bottoms and trainers) and a sweatshirt/jacket for outdoor activities. We cannot be responsible for damage to any clothes so please do not send children in their best. We require children to be in long sleeves and trousers with covered toe shoes for motor quads. Please ensure clothing is clearly labelled in case any items should be mislaid.

What should my child bring?

- Children should bring a healthy packed lunch with morning and afternoon snacks especially if you are dropping your child off early or picking them up late, this should include an ice block as we do not have facilities to refrigerate food. Please be aware that children on camp may have nut allergies – please avoid nuts and nut products in your child’s packed lunch.

- Refillable water bottle that the children can take out with them throughout the day (we supply drinking water for them to fill their bottles).

- Where swimming is available, bring swimming kit (including a towel) every day in case swimming is timetabled for your child. We will supply all swimming aids, (armbands and floats), however if your child has specific swimming aids that they are used to they are welcome to bring those with them – clearly marked with their name.

- Please also pack sun cream for your child, preferably applying it before they arrive on Camp, although we cannot apply sun cream directly to your child, we will remind them throughout the day to re-apply. We also recommend bringing a cap or sunhat during hot weather.

- Please write your child's name onto any personal item that they bring to Camp. This is so that we can make sure all personal items are returned.

What shouldn't my child bring?

- Money is not required on Camp

- Please do not bring portable electronic devices (e.g. Mobile Phones, iPads, Nintendo Switch, etc.). They will not be needed on Camp and we cannot be held responsible for anything going missing or being damaged.
